Hi everyone
I found this excellent forum whilst surfing the net. I've been a cat owner for over 30 years now having had various cats, mainly moggies, with a persian and red colourpoint. Currently I have 4 cats, 2 half Maine Coone sisters - 2 yrs old, a silver tabby - 17 yrs old and finally the new addition a Bengal - 13 wks old. Hence my interest in the Forum here.
I've never had a Bengal before and I'm sure will have lots of questions as he grows. He's an absolute little darling. A little on the small side but what he lacks in size he certainly makes up in character and guts. Compared to other cats I've had, he is extremely vocal and very intelligent
He will be a house cat as are my other cats. He also shares his new home with 3 English Springer Spaniels.
I was fortunate enough to be given him by a breeder who currently has personal problems at the moment and just wanted him to go to a good home.
We've gradually introduced him to the other cats, letting him out of his room (bathroom) for an hr or so at a time. At first much hissing and growling from the resident cats but now this has stopped and they are on the verge of playing together.
Yesterday was the big day for the dogs. He came across the 'safest' dogs and apart from some growling and hissing at first, he was fine. The last dog who I thought would be a problem as she is large and very playful, has been absolutely brillant with him, following him around, licking his ears and bottom
It's early days yet and I'm really pleased on how things are going. Will post some piccies of him once I can get some (boy he's active and fast!!!)
