Hello All!

I recently stumbled upon this website and am so glad that I did! I have already found so many answers to the many questions that I have had since acquiring my first beautiful bengal! Just a little bit of background, I have always wanted a bengal since I was a little girl when I saw an advertisement with the most beautiful cat I had ever seen showcasing a wine bottle. It definitely caught my attention and ever since had dreamed of the day I would one day be able to own one. Finally, I was presented with the perfect opportunity in my life to welcome one into my home. I did a lot of research, over pretty much a year, to see if this breed was in fact suitable for me. I also had to deal with the valid concerns of my significant others because he is a musician and specifically plays the drums. After consulting my vet, and putting our concerns to rest, I was well on my way to finding my future baby. I searched many breeders and decided to go with Bundas Cattery in Ontario, Canada (where I am from). I had such a great experience picking and waiting for my new addition and on September 15th I welcomed Dexter home! Since then, we have had so much fun and we can't even imagine what our lives would be without him. There have of course been a few questions about the breed characteristics that I did not know before but through additional research (and the help of this site in one afternoon!) I am relieved that many others experience the same joys as we do with our beautiful boy.

Anyway, for those of you who are still reading this novel, thanks! Here is a picture of Dex gearing up for Christmas that was taken yesterday. Hope you enjoy and looking forward to being an active part of this forum.

Take care!

Welcome to this site.

I found the site after we brought Indy home. Sadly we lost him due to illness but I'm looking forward to having a new bengal join us next year.

PS Tell Dex it's too early for Christmas (I haven't even put the sprouts on yet!!)

Thanks for all the welcomes!! Dexter has definitely lived up to my expectations of bengals - AND surpassed them!! Within the first month of owning him he now fetches and rides a skateboard! I will have to get some footage of that up to you guys as it's quite hilarious! Anyway, I agree with all of you, Christmas is quite far away in my books too but I could not resist (you can buy all sorts of cute things at Petsmart lnt999, even now, and I believe they even offer some on their website if you are interested). However, until next March-April, I am living in Thunder Bay, Ontario (northern tip of Lake Superior) and it's already -10 degree Celsius and snowing! So, it does feel a little more like Christmas than it would normally living near where I am from (near Toronto). I look forward to getting to know you all a little better and sharing some more photos of my baby. The first one is when I brought him home, the second is another shot from yesterday and the third is from early October (action shot - notice the tongue!)

Take care for now!!

Welcome to you both. Dexter is such a little cutie. The picture of him sticking out his little tongue is so cheeky - very typical of a bengal though! :D
