I have some after the fact (after I left a deposit visited and fell in love with him) concerns or worries but hopefully it'll all turn out ok!

Thanks!!!
Jennifer

Welcome Jennifer! Congrats on your new lil' boy!

Ooo, and you're from NY! I am in NJ, and my Sammie came from a breeder in NY. Where is your boy coming from?

Any concerns or worries discuss with the breeder they will be more than happy to answer any questions you have.

He is coming from Indian Creek Bengals in PA

My concerns are kind of questions I probably should have asked the breeder beforehand but I think I just assumed, like where and how the kittens are kept in the home. Meaning are they having fun running around the house, for some reason I assumed they were.... Perhaps they are let to when they are older....

I feel strange saying some things in an open forum, regarding a breeder etc because Im sure its all fine and its my undue worrying, but if someone would be willing to talk offline...

Another concern that came up was potty issues. I had a cat that passed on last summer at 18, many friends with cats, I talked to a friend with a persian and one with a Bengal and they all said their cats always went in their boxes, as did my boy.

But I have been reading a number of accident posts, and other assorted posts regarding peoples cats not going in the litter box. Is this common and something I somehow missed in my research?

I'm worried since this is my boyfriends first cat and the landlords specifically mentioned that we'd have to replace all the carpeting etc if the cat had an accident.

Perhaps its more an issue with boys and girls that are still 'intact'? My boy will be neutered.
Thanks

hi there, welcome to the forum :D

what a beautiful little one you have there, no wonder you are excited...i'm sure your breeder will be happy to chat about any questions you have with them.
you may find they are restricted to certain areas, but most likely for their own safety & their breeders' sanity!
the most important thing is that they are healthy, happy, socialised & that you are happy with the communication you get with the breeder.

i hope everything falls into place for you.

our Breeder had her queens indoors for the births, but as soon as the kittens where into everything they were put into a cattery with a nursery outdoors. this however had a little impact on bringing them home as they werent really that well socialised and not used to the hoover, tv, etc. mind you within a week they were 'at home'.

as for the toileting issues, i wouldnt worry too much, I have 4 bengals and only one has weed on the bed but she was seriously poorly and i believe its their way of telling us when they arent well. all 4 of mine otherwise use the litter trays. I have two trays.

if someone posts a question and it makes you step back and think...hey that may happen to my cat...yes it may well do. but we post questions, concerns etc because we need advice it doesnt mean it happens to all bengals.

Your kitten is stunning, and welcome to the forum

I think if you've got specific questions about your breeder, then it's best not to post them in an open forum but if you've got general questions about Bengals, then fire away!

We are 98% sure (I think) that we are naming him Khan (as in Wrath of).

Although the boyfriend keeps saying he likes Fred.
