Hi!
I just wanted to say hello....I am a new member here and also a new owner of a gorgeous Bengal kitten :D She and I got together on 30th August, she is now 17 weeks old and has completely captivated me! I feel really lucky to have her. I have health problems which have prevented me from working for 9 months now, and it is doubtful that I will work again, but it is just impossible to feel down in the dumps with Holi around!
I chose the name 'Holi' because I wanted something with a link to Asia. Hindu is a widespread religion in Asia/India, and Holi is the Hindu Spring festival. My little kitten was born in the spring, so it seemed just right for her! I pronounce it 'holly' which is probably wrong, but it sounds nice and the thought behind the name is there!
I am hoping to show her when I have received her registration number off the GCCF, and I plan to breed her when she is older. I would love to hear from anyone here, who is as in love with their Bengal as I am with mine (my husband thinks I've finally lost my marbles haha!!!) xxx

Hi Kimberly, I have just put a pic of her on the gallery! No, I don't breed Bengals - yet!!!! Holi is my first Bengal, and I have wanted one for so long I am delighted that at last my waiting is over. I am going to breed her when she is old enough; I would love to get another Bengal kitten but I am going to wait as I want to give her all my attention at the moment (and my other 2 cats - not pedigree but very sweet! - would probably leave home!!!) I am really looking forward to breeding Holi in the future, she will produce beautiful kittens I think! Yours is lovely.......how old? xx

Oscar is gorgeous! Is he your only Bengal, or an addition to the family? Yes, I am making sure that I research as much as possible into breeding Bengals, I have bought Dan Rice's book, joined a couple of clubs, read loads on websites, talked to Holi's breeder, and joined this forum! Hopefully by the time she is ready, I will know quite a bit. It is important to me to make sure that her kittens will be as healthy as possible, and a good example of the breed. I also found a really good piece about genetics on a breeder's website, which is very interesting & informative. I won't breed until I am confident that I can do Holi justice! xx

hi there kate, welcome to our little world of bengalaholics :D

it sounds like you've fallen head-over-heels in love with these wonderful beings just as most of us here have, i wish you every bit of luck & please know that we are all here to help & share your experiences with little holi.

breeding isn't something to be taken lightly but it sounds as though you have a level-head & a good relationship with holi's breeder which is oh so important.

i look forward to getting to know you here :D

Hi Kate

Welcome to the forum and the world of being a bengal slave  I saw pictures of Holi on another thread and she is absolutely beautiful. It is wonderful that you have her to keep you company and keep up your spirits!

You will find all of the people on the forum really helpful and friendly. I am just 'owned' but there are many knowledgable and reputable breeders on the site who will be able to offer you advice and support.

M
