So I just realized that I haven't introduced myself! I'm a teacher in Georgia. I am a cat person, but this will be my first time having Bengals.

I don't have my Bengal kittens yet. I'll get them on Memorial Day. I had intended to only get one - but the breeder has been sending me videos of him, and I've noticed that every single video shows that all he wants to do is play with his brother. Seriously - Every. Single. Video. The other kittens will walk around on their own, but not him! His favorite playmate is reserved, so I can't get him. But ... I figure this kitten is probably going to need a fellow cat. The breeder said that she had one other kitten available, so I dipped into my savings to get her. They're not from the same litter, but they were born one day apart and are now being socialized together.

This is my first one, a boy. He's the one in the middle, and has a blue collar that is peeking out.

I love this picture, with everyone's utter focus on the toy.

I don't really see much about his personality, other than enjoying pouncing on another kitten, which worries me. I've never gotten a pet without getting some feel for their personality before. I could visit her to see him, but it's a 10-hour round trip drive, which is a bit much for me. So ... yeah, hopefully it will work out.

And this is my second kitten, a girl:

With her, I can see a bit of personality shining through - and I love it! And I love her face, how it looks all softly golden. She doesn't have the big rosettes, but her spotting looks more wild, I think! I'm actually really happy that I looked for a second one.

Thank you for sharing your story. This is going to be a wonderful adventure for you. These two will amuse you (and themselves) for hours on end. Since your little boy loves to play, he is going to love his playmate. Kudos to your breeder for getting them socialized together. Hopefully, she will send you a video of them playing and interacting with each other. I know it is difficult to chose a pet from a picture or video, however, if you've gone with a terrific breeder, you should have nothing to worry about. All of the kitties in the pictures are gorgeous. However, it is always the personality that reigns first. Bengals are known for being super sweet kitties. I hope you have read up on the breed as bengals can be challenging at times. We are here if you have any questions and we love seeing pictures and pictures and more pictures. Congratulations!

My two boys are from the same breeder but different litters, two weeks apart. They have the same father but different mothers. They couldn't be closer if they were brothers from the same litter though and I am so happy I got two. I am sure you won't regret your decision to get a playmate for your kitty too, I could never give them what another kitten can and it's a joy to seen them play and sleep together.

Looking forward to seeing pics of your two together!

Sherry - Thanks! I have been reading up on the breed. I’m currently in the process of getting my house ready for the two kittens… with doing things like childproofing the cabinets and looking at everything I have up high. I’m probably going to need all this time to get my place ready! I’ve also got two tall cat trees for them to play on.

Brianj12 - I hadn’t thought of it that way! I guess I’m so used to kittens playing being just something they do sporadically. This is bound to be interesting… lol. But I can see that. He only has use for what he can play with, which would explain why the only decent pictures is when she brings out a toy…

Pixel_the_bengal - Agreed! Even with me playing a lot, I don’t think that I could give the snow kitten as much play as he seems to crave. I am kind of looking forward to having two. I bet they’ll be fun! And I’ll definitely post pictures!

You might wish to consider the one on the scratch pad, those large round eyes are unreal, almost doll-like with distinctive rosetted markings as well.

We do look forward to your sharing your adventures with these two misfits. I say that because you are going to be completely blown away by these babies. And cat proofing your home is essential. These kitties will climb high up and they can get behind almost anything. Make sure your cords are covered or they may chew on them. Naturally, in the beginning, keep them in a smaller area -- closing off rooms to them. Know, too, that these two may bond closely to each other -- and not so much you. You are the third wheel, so to speak, who only fees them and cleans out their litter boxes. I hope they become snuggle bunnies with you -- some do but many do not.

The end of May is getting closer ....

Yeah, I've already got the kitten room pretty much ready to go. They'll be closed in there until they get comfortable and until they've had a positive interaction with my cat Keegan. He's older, but is generally easygoing and amiable with other cats (I've rescued a few kittens, so I have seen how he's reacted to being introduced to kittens.).

I am worried about the bonding issue. That's my only main concern with getting two. I really do not like the idea that they would not bond with me. I don't expect them to be lap cats - I have Keegan for that. I know that bonding does not always mean snuggling up. But I do want some bonding! I figure the trick will be to play with them a lot.

And yep! About 3 more weeks.

LOL. Forget any previous experience you had with multiple cats. Bengals are not your typical cat!!! I am really excited for you .... and we can't wait to hear all these fun details.

We fell for the "two bengals" idea too. We went to meet ours at around 8 weeks, and intended on reserving ONE. We separated the one we were considering from his brother, as I was holding/playing with him. His brother started CRYING from across the room, and it broke our hearts. Why get one when you can have two for twice the price, right?

All kidding aside, having the two of them has been a blessing in disguise, as they are better socialized, learn how to play without biting/scratching, and keep each other entertained when we're not available. Once we brought them home, they were inseparable. Even weeks later, if one was exploring and they ended up in separate rooms, one quick cry would have the other one running to join. I've even had the two of them on the cat wheel at the same time - now that gets pretty funny if they're not moving the same direction!

Thanks for sharing your experience, Jeff. How adorable! You obviously made the right decision in not separating them. I can only imagine all the adventures they take you on.
