Hello there! My name's Kinzie, I became a mom to my 1-year-old Bengal, her name is Mala, about 4 months ago. Someone had posted online that she was looking for a new home, because the other cats in her home would beat her up. So we contacted the lady who had posted about her, and drove 3 hours to go and get her! And honestly, I don't regret it at all! I love the little beast..

We also have older cats in our home, and surprisingly, she didn't have a problem with them after about 2 weeks of living in our home. We also have rescue dogs, who she loves to play with!

This is my first cat, and she's a spunky little thing.. I would love if anyone could give me any advice about the breed :) I love learning more about it!

Hi Kinzie, welcome to our forum. Mala is gorgeous! It was wonderful of you to rescue her and I'm happy she has settled in with the rest of your family. Since this is your first bengal, you can throw out the window anything you know from having other cats. Bengals are completely different. Very vocal, high energy, quite social, bond closely with humans, very sweet temperament. Will not sleep 20 hours a day like other cats. Bengals really require a lot of human interaction. Your other cats will not have the energy level to keep up with Mala, so you will have to take over. Make sure you have a tall cat tree as bengals love to climb and be high up in the air. Add another litter box to prevent other issues. Bengals can be a challenge, that's for sure. Congratulations.
