Ive joined the forum yesterday have been reading various posts and learning more and more about this amazing cat. I have had my boy for just over a week now and after just a day of hiding and howling we have now become best friends.

Here is Coyu my three month old Spotted/rosetted Bengal

Welcome to our forum and congratulations on your gorgeous Coyu. It is not unusual for a new kitty to have some digestive issues as they attempt to settle in to being away from mom and siblings. You are wise to take him to the vet, but I suggest you also have Coyu tested for Tritrichomonas foetus. Your normal lab tests do not test for this and TF can be common with new kittens. It's highly transmittable in catteries. Know that this isn't pleasant for Coyu either and this needs to be taken care of ASAP. Happy he is settling in. He will lead you on great adventures.

Digestive parasites are highly contagious especially if both cats use the same litter box. And if this should be TF (and I suggested that test due to the blood you mentioned), then there is ONE drug only that can treat it and it is so hard to get rid of due to the cross contamination that can continue on for weeks with both cats. One member here had to have her cats boarded at the vet and separated for two weeks to get it treated. I'm not saying that is what your kitties have ... but it's obviously a parasite of some sort. Most are easily treatable with medication and are cured in just 10 days or so. The key is the keep the litter box squeaky clean -- and because you have at least two cats, you need multiple litter boxes. Both cats need to be treated as the parasite will continue to come back to the other cat. {{{HUGS}}} to you as I know this is not an easy process.

I know when we adopt our fur babies, we think they will be healthy and settle in quickly. Unfortunately, many end up with a health issue which is not the way to start out. We adopted a tabby back in 1986 that started with an upper respiratory infection. She insisted on sleeping and sneezing next to my husband and kept us up all night long. But, she was with us for many, many years and we survived all the issues. You will as well.
