Hi there,

I just registered at this forum. I'm a Bengal and Sokoke breeder in Norway and look forward get to know some Bengal breeders and owners in other countries as well.

I've owned Bengals since 2000, but due to a difficult start my first litter of Bengals didn't arrive untill January 2003, and they have just had their 5th birthday.

I have quite a few Bengals, but I'm not a fast breeder. I hang on to my "fundation" (not early generations) breeding animals for quite a long time to get to know their line and what they give me properly before I pet them out. My main stud since fall 2003 is still fertile at 6 years old and just had his last litter of kittens March 8th. Other cats only have a litter or two before I move on, and most of the young ones I keep, I end up petting out in the end. So far 17 litters and 54 Bengal kittens has been born in my home and gotten the name Kimburu + their own name.

I now breed in TICA only, but the previous 4 years I have been a member of both FIFe and TICA (and the first few years it was only FIFe).

If you want to check out my cats, please visit my webpage at: www.kimburu.net

Welcome here ;)

You've got very nice cats :D, some with patterns we don't see a lot around here ! (small, numerous rosettes instead a few big ones... in my opinion more ALC looking even if I favour the second type ! ;)).

Doesn't 90% or so of the Bengal breeders and owners prefer the large flashy rosettes?
It's the feeling I've got.
My main focus is on what I thinkt make the bengal look wild. It's the wild illuzion in a domestic that makes me love the bengal so much. Sooo....
my main focus are BLACK spots that never fades, light backgrounds, pattern FLOW, spotted legs, a good type which means small ears, good structure, good head in frontal view (profile is not that important to me at the moment as it is easier to get in place later), strong chin, think tail, wild movements. Then I want the white tummie, clear coats and last I want the rosettes. But the pawprints kind in strong horizontal or diagonal flow, not the big pancakes in a bull's eye flow that is so common (and flashy). In 15-20 years time I hope to be close to my ideal Bengal on a rather regular basis. Looking forward to my first "near perfect" kitten getting born sometime in the future
