Hi everyone! Meet my new kitty Zazu. He is 10 weeks old. I've had cats all my life but this is my first time owning a Bengal. We have had him for about 3 days now and he's already so smart and EXTREMELY energetic. I knew going into this that bengals are more active than regular cats, but wow! He has a kitty cat wonderland full of toys to keep him entertained though and he just bounces back and forth to all of them for as long as you will play with him. I'm a little overwhelmed and covered in scratches but I'm excited to watch him grow. The only issue I seem to be having is he doesn't drink water from his bowl. He puts he's face in it and his nose gets wet and it scares him so he runs away luckily I have him on a raw food/ canned food diet at the moment so I'm hoping he's getting enough water from that. Anyways, just wanted to say hi. I'm sure I will be posting with a lot of questions in the future !

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on Zazu. He's gorgeous!!!! Hopefully, he will learn to drink water. You got him a couple of weeks too early. Bengals learn so much in the final weeks. I never see my bengal drink water. He gets canned food so I'm guessing he gets enough. He's never been dehydrated. You can always add a little water to the canned food for safe measure. You are definitely in for an adventure. Hopefully you have at least one cat tree for him to climb as bengals love to be high up in the air. They have so much energy! If you think it's bad now -- it never settles down. Enjoy him and feel free to ask any questions.

Cute cat, and yes, that sounds familiar  As far as the water thing goes, you could also try one of the ceramic fountains to encourage your kitten to drink more. Many bengals really seem to "get" the fountains as a water source for some reason. Plus kittens often enjoy playing in them  Just make sure you get one of the waterproof mats to put it on if you go that route.

Thank you! Yes he has a tall cat tower that's he's already learned to climb. We are working on putting cat shelves in the spare room, now known as the cat room. The water fountain is a good idea. I was thinking about getting one eventually so we will see how that works out. As crazy as he is he's amazing to watch. Luckily this kitty will not be lacking from play time and love from the humans.

Try to get a stainless steel or ceramic water fountain rather than plastic. Plastic anything is not good for a kitty. There are so many great fountains on the market -- you'll have a wide choice. Cat shelves are a great climbing tool! I wish I had wall space for them. Raiden has to settle for three cat trees.
