Hey everyone, just got my jax 4 days ago. He's a case i tell ya! Very sweet, but sometimes can be ferocious! Lol
He will at times just attack my hand . Like bite down hard and shake! Like he wants to eat a chunk of me. I dont do anything to intise this. What can i do? What is the right way to correct him when he does this. I would hate for him to get worse at this when he gets bigger. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum. All kittens are super playful. You might try diverting his attention with a toy -- and you should have lots of toys for him to play with. I'm sure he would love chasing a wand toy around. Also, petting a kitty's belly will bring out the claws. We've all been there with kittens and it is difficult to stop the scratching or biting. Bengal kittens, especially, are high energy and they will pounce on anything and everything. Congratulations.

Yes i never intise with my hand or rub his belly, he also has lots of toys including the wand. Hes even done this while i was asleep lol. But i have discovered that slapping my hands together with a sharp no is working. Just have to say no now.

That sort of thing is real common in kittens. It's going to happen, but the key is to make sure it doesn't prolong into adulthood. I think the keys are:

1. One way or another make sure he knows that you're unhappy with it when he does it, but don't over do it.
2. Make sure that you engage in "acceptable" games with him, so that he knows that there are much funner things to do with you than grabbing your arm.
3. That wrap/kick/bite behavior seems to be an important one for cats, so you can't simply suppress it. If you get him some "kicker toys" that will give him an acceptable outlet for that. Something like this:

4. Never engage in a game with your cat where the object of his hunting/playing is one of your hands/arms/legs etc.

Raiden has a few kicker toys. His favorite is the TNR buddy that Jackson Galaxy sells. Cats use up a lot of great energy in beating these things to death! I agree with Brian, that scratching and biting is just kitten behavior! It's also painful. Hopefully, your bengal will grow out of it in time.

I gave up on those kicker toys. My cats rip open the ends and eat the stuffing out of them.

Yes i hope he does. Hes constantly doing it. Its driving me nuts.

Raiden beats the crap of those kicker toys and they remain in fine shape. I guess the gals can do more damage. LOL.

I've often wondered what Raiden was like as a kitten because he was 6 years old when I got him. He cannot find a toy and occupy himself. He comes to me (I'm usually on the couch) and cries. I get up and he runs into the bedroom and when I get there, he's crouched down on the carpet just waiting. That means, "engage me in play." He has so many toys that he can play with by himself, but he only wants the end of the wand toy swished around on the carpet so he can chase it. Not the toy at the end of the wand, but the other end of the wand. We use the same two wands over and over again. He loves it, but quite boring for me! When he gets hyper with the wand, I will toss him a kicker toy and he will play with that for a few seconds. He will not chase balls or mice. Tried toilet paper and paper towel rolls. Nothing! I don't think he was played with much as a kitten, period! They put him outside and let him have the run of the neighborhood. He did kill a mole yesterday in our yard.

Lol, im glad im engaging alot of play with a big variety of toys then, i started with a wand and a ball with a mouse in it. Not enough! Then pieces of paper and toilet paper roll. Not enough! Lol went on a shopping spree and got a kicker toy, lots of mice and balls. Another wand. He is very busy now! Mice and kicker is his favorite. He slept well last night. Lol

Seems like you're getting the hang of things and realize that your kitty needs a lot of kitty things. The cat tree will really help! And they sure do sleep good after a great play session.

Yes the tree came and he loves it. It came with toys and i attached more toys! Lol
