Hi @ all

2 bengal boys are going to come into our home soon. I played with the idea for a couple years now and since I'm still young I decided to wait. Now my body got damaged by an antibiotic called Ciprofloxacin and I'm home a lot as a result, so I decided to go for it.

We got a big apartment with outside caged space and also a cat room with natural tree inside and many climbing ropes etc so the cats will have a lot of space to play with each other and us.

I'm a little nervous about the waking up at 5am stuff as I tend to sleep longer now that I got these side effects. But I guess it's ok to put them in the cat room together over night? Maybe I'm lucky and mine will be late risers as well. :)

Will post pics once they're here.

Congratulations!!!! Sounds like you have the perfect arrangement for your babies when they arrive. With your cat room, if you plan to close it off at night, make sure you have a litter box in there as well as water for them. If the cat tree doesn't have platforms for beds, make sure there are beds for them. The one thing that will help your little ones sleep is to make sure they get enough play time in the evening. Hopefully, they will spend hours playing with each other. You may lose some sleep as mine wakes me up during the night to eat and is ready to go once it's light outside. I love winter as then it doesn't get light out until 7 a.m. Now, it's 5 a.m. Eventually, you may be able to "tune" them out. Just know, their cries are loud!

Enjoy the little bundles of joy. It will definitely be a change for you in your schedule, but hopefully, they will help you feel a whole lot better.

My two wake me up around 5am even on the weekend with enthusiastic affection. They want food, but even more they want to go out on the patio before dawn when it is fun and exciting and watch the sun rise. If I don't respond, Grace will race across my body, and throw herself against me purring and kneading the blankets and ripping at the sheets. I let them out to play and go back to bed only to have them retun by 7 wanting their food. By then both of them are jumping up and down on me until I get up and feed them. It's my favorite part of the day when they are both purring and allowing me to cuddle them. Enjoy your new babies.

Is there anything wrong with putting them in the cat room over night? Toilet toys etc are all in there and I don't hear them when the door is closed.
Just wondering if it could have negative effects socially?

sounds great having a cat room! I think if you start this routine from the start it will be fine they have each other for company and will be socialising with you throughout the day. I have read of quite a few owners who put there cats somewhere specific overnight

You're getting TWO bengals. They are going to have each other and putting them in the cat room at night should be fine as long as they have the run of the house the rest of the time. Give the kitties some food before they go to bed as kittens need to eat more often than adult kitties (just like human babies).
