Hi I'm new 3 rd eyelid

hi everybody I have never used a site like this before
I have a Bengal called Pardus he is 8 years old and had his 3 eyelid closed on both eyes he has been to the vets they told me its a sign of illness and he needed his teeth cleaning and 5 out so we went ahead and did this ,
His eyes are still the same after a blood test his liver kidney are all ok
Had anyone else ever had this??? Xxx

I would talk to another vet. Is he eating & drinking, playing and using the litter box?

I agree....when You are not happy about what Your vet says to You...or if He can't sort it out quickly....go to another one!

This is obviously not normal in cats. I agree with the others. If your vet cannot find a solution with your current vet or consult with some type of specialist, then find a new vet. All vets receive training, but some may not be up to date on things as others. The clinic where I take Raiden has five veterinarians who always consult with the others when they find something they aren't sure of. You will not have this with a solo vet.

I hope there is nothing seriously wrong with your baby! I'm guessing he is eating, drinking, urinating, pooping, and acting normal. So this could be something as simple as dryness or swelling in the eyes that will not allow that third eyelid to retract. Please keep us informed.

Our Vega has the same issue in his left eye, sometimes it resolves itself, sometimes not. Here is some info that I beleive could be useful.

Below is a link that had pictures you may be able to relate too that show the inner eye lid half closed, and you may read some advice on how to apply a prescribed medication.

There is a muscle behind each eye in the skull, this muscle pushes the eye forward slightly, this in turn opens the inner eye lid. When the muscle relaxes, the eye sinks back, and the eye lid closes again. It can be referred to as a sunken eye.
