He is so cute!! I am definitely no expert (will be picking my my first bengal in a few weeks), but that light spotty tummy and black paw pads look bengal to me. (someone please correct me if I am wrong)

He definitely has some bengal characteristics, but it's hard to know whether he's pure bengal without some type of papers or knowing if his parents were registered. I can't see his tail, but most rosetted bengals have a ringed tail with a black tip. He's a handsome boy! Just love his spotted belly!

his tail is ringed with the black tip and it twitches with mischief all the time!!

Rosetted or spotted tails are what is desired.

But you are correct, Sherry, most have the domestic tabby rings on a tapered tail with a central black line connecting the rings too, like in this spotted tabby cat.

Elaine, I'm guessing that as you stray further away from the ALC, the tail changes. I'd never noticed the spotted tail on an ALC, but most of the bengals I've seen have a tail just like Raiden, which is ringed with a stripe going down the top of the tail that appears to link them all. And he has a fairly long black tip at his tail. Raiden is an F9. I know it's quite difficult to tell from pictures when pet owners ask if they have a bengal. There is a lot of "tabby" in bengals and I think tabbies are some of the most beautiful cats in the world. The cat in this topic is really beautiful.

thanks guys, his markings are more distinct than my other tabbies but essentially same pattern, his spots only have a very very slight rosette to them.

its his personality more than anything.

not that I care either way as I just love all moggies :)

Congrats on becoming a Crazy Cat lady! They say once you hit 5, you are an official Crazy Cat Lady. Not that it's a bad thing, I think we all get there eventually! :lol:

Your baby is gorgeous, I love his face. He has the most mischievous look on his face while in your purse, hehe! I cannot say nor tell whether he is Bengal or not, but from some of the pictures he seems to have slight rosettes, which appear a bit similar to this Bengal.

that's interesting, seems to have a mix of tabby which would be right but a bit more attention seeking and athletic.

doesn't say much about being vocal which he definitely is.

He has just started going outdoors now and is a very excited and often sleepy so is much calmer than before so less attacking the other cats.
