Hi all
I'm new to the forum and bengal cats I had my last cat for 18 years and was my best mate! He sadly passed away and I feel too lonely without the little terror around
So after several months I have decided on getting a kitten now I've researched and a bengal is 110% for me.
My question is I've got a deposit on one little boy but I've read they can get lonely also if I get 2 they don't bond well with me?
Anyone have this experience I really don't want to be unloved :p
We are in a 5 bedroom house already with the activity centre on way 6foot thing ready for him

I cannot decide to get a second bengal or not and would be two brothers from the same litter if I was to so this.

Any help would be greatly appreciate I just cannot make the decision!

Two kittens are just a ton of fun to watch and they will be best friends forever. Spend time interacting with both of them together and you will also be loved.

If you have the room, and it sounds like you do, then I would get two kittens, brothers would be fine as would brother and sister.
From the same litter would be great.

I have two kittens from the same litter and I don't experience any love deficiency :). They both are always ready to interact with me and it is so much fun to watch them playing with each other. I actually decided that I will never now have only one cat :)

I'm very happy with my decision to get two bengal sister kittens. During the first year or so especially, they were such a comfort to one another, and constant companions and playmates. And seeing all their interactions and behaviors together, it was definitely worth the price of admission. Not to mention that I know that they certainly enrich each other's lives. Now 3 years later they are not the constant clingy companions to each other that they were, but they still have that effortless acceptance of one another. Whether they would have individually been more loving towards me if I had gotten one or the other as an only cat is a hypothetical that I honestly don't even wonder about. Even if that were the case though it wouldn't change my conviction in having both of them, and I would definitely do that again.

Thanks everyone for your replies :) I'm glad to hear there isn't a love deficiency when there are two around. I may well pick up two bengals in around 12 days time :p

I will post some pics for those interested and update you with what I do.

I got my two brothers (a marble and a spotted/rosetted) and so glad I got two. They love each other to death and play and play fight endlessly together but are both very loving to us humans.

Can't wait to see pics

If I'd gotten mine as a kitten, I would have preferred having two as I think they would get along great together and keep each other company and they'd have a sleeping buddy! If you have the room and the money .... I'd definitely get two from the same litter. Bengals are so high energy that they will wear YOU out trying to keep up with them. Having a playmate will use up a lot of their energy.

Congratulations on your impending arrival(s!) of madness (in a good way of course!)!! With less than two weeks to go i'd imagine you are getting very excited now!

My situation is a little different but just wanted to share in case it was helpful!

I started out with one bengal and a year later decided to add another. While my first was more than happy as a single cat, the bond that he now has with his playmate can only be seen as a benefit. Watching them play together and sleep together and teaching each other is just lovely to watch and Diego (the oldest) seems to enjoy getting the chance to be a bit more of a cat if you see what i mean!

I don't feel any less loved than i did before by Diego and Django (the youngest) has bonded very strongly to myself and my partner even though he had another cat available right from the start to bond with. So i don't think you will feel unloved ;)

Obviously getting siblings will be a little different as they will have that initial bond with each other before they get to know you but i'm sure they will love you just as much.

So really my advice would be having two is just wonderful and i would encourage it but equally don't feel as if one cat would never be happy. It might take a little extra thought in terms of amusing him if he is solo but many people have perfectly happy single bengals.

It is also wise to be aware that even if they are siblings, problems between the two can still arise as they get older so you might want to read up on how you would deal with that should any problems occur. Again, it is often plain sailing for many who have siblings but it can never hurt to be over prepared ;)
