Hi, I collected Oz yesterday, a 3yr old rescue... on the upside, his first night was quiet, used the litter tray, no major disruptions...on the downside, he doesn't seem interested in eating (except for cat grass), although he nibbled at some of his wet food during the night.... his body language is good, and he's very affectionate

The eating will come. He's stressed and extremely nervous. He's a mature cat also who is aware that he is in a totally new place, whereas a kitten can usually feel at home in a new setting. He will come around.....and what a good looking cat you have! Bless you for rescuing him and welcome to the forums!

It's a huge adjustment for an adult kitty. His appetite will return once he feels more comfortable. As long as he's eating something right now .... He's quite the handsome boy.

yes... He's so well behaved, especially at night.... don't hear a peep, just hear him rustling around the house, then we'll wake up and find him asleep at the bottom of the bed.. his appetite is increasing, I just wish he'd take more wet food... had an upset where he wasn't using the litter tray, but a change of litter and all is well.... so far... and he loves being fussed, head bumps, rolling onto his back for belly rubs... a real lap cat... adorable, in fact. :-)

Glad to hear things are going well, he sounds like he has settled extremely well if he is sleeping on your bed already!

After a period of time to allow him to settle, if you still want to encourage him to eat more wet food you may want to try changing his food gradually to see if it's only the particular wet food brand he dislikes? Be careful to do it gradually though to prevent any tummy upsets.

He is beautiful :)
