Hello i just picked out my baby last week. i was told he is a silver spotted. when i went to visit i really saw alot of color to him including in the rosettes.... i was wondering what everyone else thought? his father is a beautiful brown tricolored rosetted boy who has only produced 2 like him so the breeder has since retired him. his mother is silver spotted with rosettes. also i couldnt tell if he had lots of fuzzies or if im seeing alot of ticking? anyone have an opinion on whether he'll loose the white hairs or keep them. stud has no ticking queen has a little. as for name im still deciding but im thinking lugnut. hes a hefty boy of almost 6 weeks. oh and my breeder (who is reputable) allows her kittens to be homed between 10 to 12 weeks depending on kitten and whether they seem to be ready. she seems confident itll be 10 weeks... i know the norm is 13 weeks and told her the longer the better. for those against 10 weeks what are your reasons as id like to express good reasons and concern to breeder to hold him if need be. i plan to visit weekly so ill know fairly well.

Aww, he's so handsome already! Congratulations on the upcoming arrival. Since you were able to view the parents, you should have a good idea of how your little guy will turn out. Usually, the longer the kitty stays with the mom, the more it learns from her, plus the mom has reached the kitten to be more independent and not rely on her as much. Most recommend releasing the kitten at 12 weeks. I don't honestly know what all the extra two weeks may do, but Raiden was born on March 25, 2007 and he was released on June 25, 2007 to the owner (before me). That was a full three months, or just over 12 weeks. Glad to hear you will be able to visit your boy frequently. It will definitely help when you bring him home.

I have had many cats over the years although Quasar is my only Bengal cat.

Other kittens I have received at 6 or 8 weeks of age. Yes, yes, I was young and foolish.

We picked up Quasar at 13 weeks of age although his breeder would have liked to have kept him another week.

Quasar is FAR AND AWAY the most confident and socialized cat I have ever had. He moved right in like he owned the place, including making a best buddy of our Samoyed dog. He is most social with our dog, hubby and myself but warms up to other humans in his "jungle" within a day or so of them coming to visit.

We take him regularly to hot air balloon festivals where he does quite well. He loves small children and tolerates big ones.

I can't imagine ever taking in a cat under the age of 12 weeks ever again, unless it would perhaps be a rescue who simply needed a home.

figured id keep my intro here. breeder sent me some pictures today since i wasnt able to visit this week. they change SOOOO fast. ill definitely be going next week. my little guy is now just over 6 weeks. and his color and contrast is really popping.
