hey guys, new member here just looking for some opinions on the trained eye

i picked him up from an ad from a guy who was leaving to graduate school soon so he had to sell his bengal, said he paid 400 from a breeder and sold it to us for 200... came with a packet from the cattery and proof of two sets of 3 n 1 shots and something else i cant make out yet but it was twice too... on the vet paper it says bengal and it has a sticker from some type of pet med company... it did not come with TICA papers as he bought it as a pet and im not sure if he relayed the neuter info back either way i love him also the guy said the parents were show cats.. but who knows

LOVES to knock things over such as my internet router and anything he plays with too hard
always find toys in his bowl(one time i though he was bleeding because he had a red feather toy in there)
MEOWS to all hell and raises hell until you get up and feed him
Skittish
paws are all black solid leather feeling types
soft pelt like coat, with glitter in sunlight:low shed, always cleaning self
walks with the rolling shoulders and head low to ground.
plays 24/7 and wont sit down
makes the famous meow sounds yowl (almost like a baby crying)
and will jump 3 feet in air with no problem lol
his coat does appear to be slightly ticked and he is more spotted with just a few developing rosettes (might be why he was so cheap)
also he will stalk you in any room you go and loves to sleep in same room or bed as me

Sounds like he has settled in well with you.

To me - i'm not an expert but his coat does look like a bengal but his face is quite long so possibly he's a cross breed

hey thanks for the reply ... about the face my pictures i take for some reason i look at them and say , his face isnt that long in person its more of a round egg head shape, i took a few pictures with him standing at attention with head looking wierd but hes a hard one to get a pic of lol...heres just a few more, thanks again





ps my phone cam can suck at times lol. hes fairly young and i dont think he was fed right, but he certainly loves to eat lol, even stands over my food whenever i eat..cant stand it, but i believe the previous owner locked him in a room most of the day beause he had another cat it didnt get along with, he was terrified when we came into pick him up.. i think the kitty was depressed and not eating right , hes starting to fatten up quick

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new addition. All purebred cats can come with TICA papers. They do not have to be show cats. Your little guy looks a lot like my little guy who has papers and is registered! The belly especially. So your boy is at least mostly bengal if not 100%. The behavior you mention can be with all cats, not just a bengal. But your pictures don't lie! There is definitely bengal in him. He's quite handsome!

sherry- thanks alot... I have done some reading and have seen some breeders wont release papers unless proof of neuter is shown, not sure this guy cared even enough (was a mid-20's man with some money) to get them LOL. I appreciate the comment im glad i found him i am allergic to cat and grew up hating being around them, but researched bengals and seen they maybe a little easier on me and besides a few random eye itches .. nothing on allergic side i even rub him and then rub my face

My aunt had a siamese and a tabby and i couldnt even see in there from all the itchy eyes , stuffy nose and puffiness lol. Also i do just think hes the prettiest kitty but since you say he looks like your little guy ... I MUST see him now , looking forward!!!

Junglerose- i appreciate the input on this one, have lurked for a while and was looking for some educated opinions... hes also got the black lips and mascara around eyes not sure how visible it is in pics though

Also the last pic in original post makes his eyes look a different shape, he was squinting they are definitely more rounded

had to throw one more of the wierdo maybe to get a better shot , he loves clothes basket... he hates the flash though obviously... now i am done flooding the boards LOL(btw not my clothes i am a man, hence the temporarily hectic room )

I say he is a Bengal, honestly I don't have a doubt in my mind that he is. He looks a lot like my girl BB!

If the little guy isn't neutered, he needs to be. Many breeders neuter and spay before the cat is given to the owner. And I have heard that, yes, they do not give the TICA papers until they have proof the cat has been fixed. He will run you ragged wanting to get outside to procreate if you don't get him fixed.

A gorgeous 99.99999999% Bengal! His ears are a teensy bit large for me but he is stunning! That will be why he is a pet and not a show cat, I reckon. He has got stunning markings down his shoulders and back, with those darts and stripes, and the glitter must be amazing with that golden caramel undertone.
I reckon pedigree notwithstanding, you have got a fantastic boy there, and you can be rightly proud to show him off here!

you are right the has the gold sprinkles and the wet looking glitter when in light .... when i look at his ears right now they are different from pic but not by much..tad long but rounded so idk maybe you're right on that one ... maybe i should call him dumbo LOL
