Hi I'm new to the forum and just wanted to share some pictures of Oliver, he is now ten months old and I have had him since he was six weeks . The pet store we got him from were not sure of his breed but said it was probably bengal / maine coon. He is a bit older than the photos now and his spots have really developed !

Does anyone think he is part Bengal? He does look it and he is huge!

Can't really tell about Oliver from those pictures, but anything is possible. He's a very handsome kitty.

The question isn't really answerable with any certainty. His head shape looks more Oriental than Bengal to me, but he sure has a fancy pattern and markings, somewhat reminiscent of a marble bengal. In the second picture, his coat actually looks quite a bit like my bengal Serafina.

I agree with Brian, much more Oriental in head shape... Kind Ocicat like as well.

There is no way he has much, if any maine coon in him. I doubt there is any bengal, you can never know though. Unfortunately pet stores and some rescues label cats as certain breeds in order to sell them on... they sound more appealing.

Such a shame the pet store sold them on so young

We didn't pay much for him or buy him because he was a specific breed when he was little he just looked like a normal tabby . The girl only mentioned it in passing in reference to the fact he could get quite big. In Britain pet stores sell kittens from young I would much rather he had been home with me than sat in a cage personally

It is actually illegal to sell kittens before 8 weeks in uk pet stores.
