Hi All!!
I am Jess, I am 27 years old, and a wife and a mother to 3 beautiful children ages 9, 7 & nearly 5.
We have recently moved from Country Victoria to the beautiful Gold Coast in Australia, and in 6 short weeks we will be adding to our family.
We are getting our beautiful spotted Bengal, and I am just so unbelievably excited to get him!!
Just wanting some advice on how to get set up for our little baby, toys to get, good food to get (our breeder will be giving us a hand book when we collect our baby.) but I just want to be prepared for him :) also do you think its a good idea to make an outdoor enclosure for him as we don't want him to be stuck inside all day everyday but don't want him on the streets either.
I am going to a cat show just before we get him as I have an interest in showing him as the breeder has said that he is the perfect Bengal :)
Oh Im just so excited LOL!
Also, name suggestions would be amazing also... my Husband is a massive Geelong supporter (AFL football lol) and wanted to call him a Geelong legend but I just want a cool name for him so if I have some ideas to give him that would also be amazing :)

Congrats. I know how exciting and agonizing it is waiting for your bengal kitten to come of age. I think your kids will love having a bengal too.

An outdoor enclosure is usually a pretty nice, deluxe thing you can do for your cat. But I don't know what the wildlife situation is where you live or how safe that would be. You'd have to judge that.

The "Flying Frenzy" stuff (wand and attachments) are great for bengals. The kicker sausages are great too. I think the best thing you could get for your kitten though is a really big, and more importantly tall, cat tree. Buy the biggest, sturdiest one you can accommodate, and put it in a room where your family spends the most time. Your kitten will love it. I think I currently have 4 such trees

There are quite a few Australians here on the forum, hopefully some of them can recommend some food that is locally available. Barring that there are a lot of good discussions about that in the nutrition section of the forum.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your upcoming bundle of joy. I hope you've read up on the bengal breed and how it differs from a normal domestic cat. Your little one is going to be super energetic. Thankfully, you have children who can fill this need. Your kitty will want to play constantly. Brian is right about a cat tree. Bengals love to be high up in the air. If you want your baby to enjoy the outdoors, a cat enclosure is a wonderful thing and you can create one yourself or buy something already made. There are a multitude of websites with pictures of various enclosures. You can also eventually teach your bengal to walk with a harness and leash. If you want to show your new baby, then he will have to remain pristine. My Raiden was sold as a "show cat" but the previous owner let him run free and he has a ton of scars from cat fighting and a torn ear. So you don't want anything to happen to your little one.

12 weeks old is just a little thing .... so be patient and let the little type grow up and find his confidence. As for a name, I usually suggest you wait until he joins your family and you watch him for a couple of days and there will be a name that will come to you that will fit him perfectly.
