Hi everyone!! My bengal is a 9 month old female. I am trying to get her used to being held and walking on a harness. Neither ones is working very successfully. And suggestions on how to make these processes easier?

Some bengals simply do not like being held. Mine is one of them. I can pick him up for a few seconds and then he fights to get down. As for the harness, you probably need to just put it on the cat and let her wear it around the house. If she acts like she doesn't like it, engage her in play and see if she forgets she has it on. Do this for several days without attaching a leash. Once she does get used to it, attach the leash and go walking. Raiden's previous owner said he tried to train Raiden to walk on a leash and was unsuccessful. I put a harness on Raiden and he was fine with it and 2 minutes later, we were out the door for our first walk. I've used a figure 8 harness and an H harness on him. I prefer the H since it fits him better. Some prefer the harness jackets. There are some cats that literally fall over when you put a harness on them. It's a strange feeling for many. Just takes some time getting used to it. Good luck.

Hey there, My Bengal does not like to be picked up much either. But does love to lay next to me on her terms though!

Dont take it as a personal thing if your Bengal isn't "cuddly" she/he will show their affection in different ways to you
