Okay, no name on this little guy yet (decisions are so tough--and we want it to fit him just right) but I couldn't resist sharing.

I'd written on the board earlier this summer about getting a bengal and now we have him. We picked him up last week at 15 weeks and brought him back with his sister (who was then heading south to the original breeder of his mommy cat); he had snip snip surgery and a chip implant on Thursday and doesn't seem the worse for any of the recent drama in his life. He's nothing but a purr machine--mixed in with mischievous fun times. A definite keeper for us.

We've had Siamese and standard kitties before but it's been a while since we've had a cat in our lives. Hubby and I are enjoying this little guy more than we'd anticipated. So, I wanted to share!

Any name suggestions?

Little guy is still such a peach (is there a honeymoon period for bengals???) and adds more to our days than we'd dreamed. We have a business so he's going to be a back and forth (home-to-office) kitty. Right now he juggles himself between our two offices; the Sleepypod makes an outstanding desk accessory ; ) and our employee is enchanted with him.

He adapted well to his collar this morning (a few floor flops to see if it'd come off but then he seemed to forget about it). We have the book, "Naughty No More," and are looking at some clicker training to keep him from bolting out the door (but for a long time we have the door locked with a "please ring the bell" note and a kitty caution sticker). Any success with this method from any of you out there?

Neighborhood strays (we're in a commercial/residential area) have somehow sensed we have a cat here and are parading around the building periodically throughout the day. I thought we'd get some kitty repellant (does the cat "Boundary" product work?) and spray around the doors so these interlopers don't start *their* spraying and get our little guy worked up....

I have actualyhad some sucess with training BB to stay inside! I have four children so in the warmer months they are going in and out! I started with a clicker and trained her to sit after she was good at that I started getting her to sit on her cat tree and gave her a treat when we were leaving, she got the hang of that within a week. So now when we are coming or going she associates that cat tree , click , treat! I dont have to even tell her anymore she just gets in her tree a treat before we leave and she is good. She has actually started to associate the door being open with getting on her cat tree. This has taken a while about 6-8 months but she is really good about staying put now
