Hi everybody. Been browsing this site for a couple weeks since I picked up my bengal kitten. Her color phenotype is Seal Lynx Point. Her name is Nimbus (latin for cloud, I didn't name her after Harry Potter XD). I thought I'd post a couple pictures and tell you about a few of her quirks so far. She's about 10 weeks now, I got her at 7. I would've waited longer but it was take her or let someone else, so home she came. I'm feeding her food from a company called Blue Wilderness right now, it claims to be primarily meat/protein as opposed to grain fillers. I feed her 2x a day canned food and let her free feed from dried throughout the day. Any recommendations on her current feeding schedule? I'm considering switching to raw but any tips on the current setup for the meantime would be great. Altogether, she seems to be a happy, social, and active kitten.

Now that my post has been approved..some funny things she does. As you can see from the picture, she loves clear plastic boxes. Normal boxes are fun too, but if I bring the clear one into the room, she'll jump in and just hang out. Most of her vocalizations are quiet, she talks a lot but hardly ever louder than the TV. Shoulders are one of her favorite places. The whole ride home (2+ hours) she was either on a shoulder or head. I'm happy to say (knock on wood) that she hasn't eliminated outside her box even once yet. How old should she be before spaying? I'm definitely going to have it done before her first heat, I'm just wondering what the time frame is. She also loves helping out with things. Cleaning the litter is a favorite, she thinks it's so helpful to paw at it in the scoop. She also follows me around the kitchen while I sweep, checking for exciting things in the pile I guess. I've already begun taking her outside on a harness to get her used to it. What are your tricks for getting them to follow at your side or at least walk in a semi-straight line? Eventually it'd be nice to have her walk without a leash by my side, but that seems kind of risky.

I can't see your photo unfortunately- just get a broken image. But that might be something at my end I s'pose.

I got my two 'done' when they were 6 months. We had to wait a few weeks extra for widget because he had been quite ill so the vet wanted to make sure he was 100% before giving him the snip.

As for noise, both of my two were fairly quiet when we got them... now? Well Widget likes to wander round the house meowing his little head off. Pretty sure he thinks he's an actual leopard and that he's roaring sometimes. He's also very vocal when he wants cuddles and he also grumbles and whines at me when I pick him up if he's doing something he should be. Almost like a "Aw but muuum! I was having fun!" kinda meow.
Pixel is quieter than Widget in that she doesn't meow as much as he does. She also has this really cute meow that she does which sounds like a dinosaur hehe. When she wants cuddles she makes a fair bit of noise though.

Don't worry, as your kitty gets older, that voice will too

Spaying can be done any time from around 12 weeks but a lot of vets prefer to wait til the 5-6 age.
