Hi, I found the site by accident when looking for information on Bengals. Mine is a strange story as Noodles (now a whole year old) came to me as a foster parent. A lady had been driving to work and seen a kitten huddled under a tree, on returning home the kitten had'nt moved so she stopped, picked it up and took it to the local vets. The kitten was about 7 weeks old with quite a nasty facial wound. Knowing how soft hubby and I are the vet rang and asked me to foster while we found the owner. The owner never surfaced and hubby fell in love with the kitten, so he stayed. I have other cats but it quickly became clear he was very different. It wasnt until I spoke to a friend who breeds that she saw him and confirmed he is Bengal. Having read some other posts i thonk we are getting it right (bought him a massive climbing tree which he dismantled in 4 hours) . Let him come to us rather than bug him (he loves it when I sit on the floor and we have Noodle time) and give hima big dish of water to play splashy in!! However I have no knowledge of his breeding and no one claimed him (thankfully) so if anyone has information, ideas or helpful hints, I'm all ears (and so is he along with big pointy ears and beautifull big green eyes)

Welcome like others have said you need to post pics. If your having trouble I can help. Its inevitable but the following will happen.....

First I want to make it clear you are welcome here. This is a great fun place to talk about cats and an excellent source of information not just about Bengals. All that is required is a love of the breed.

You absolutely must post pics! One we love kitty pix. The second is because of the "I found a Bengal story". Its one we hear often and rarely is it a Bengal and many will point out there is no way to tell without papers. Even the ones that do look like Bengals(I've seen 1) you can't tell for sure. Because this story happens often people get sick of typing it. This makes the posts short and to the point and apear rude, rember your very welcome here!

Love this link, at least I now know I do not have a pure bred bagal, although they are really pretty. lmao. Seriously, thanks for your replies. As I said earlier, I really did not know what I had, only that he was very different to the others. He looks alot like many pics of other Bengals I have seen and I only have the woman I know who breeds as an opinion. His coat is like silk and he has very distinct diamond shaped markings which I am told are quite popular. He has the most stunning eyes I have ever seen (like pure green glass mirrors) If you didnt already know, you will guess by now I am in love!! His features are pretty much identical to pics of other Bengals I have seen. Certainly his behaviours are not those of a "moggie". He is off to the vet on Thursday for his first year check so we will see what is said then. He could be Bengal cross or even something else, having only taken in rescues he is the first "different" puss I have met!! Please do tell me how I post pictures as this may also help. Lastly, as a totally devoted cat servant I need to say, the only reason I want to know what and who he is, is so I can do the right things for him and as stated before, any comments or help will be much appriciated!!

Ta, I will set hubby onto it as I really am a complete dunce in technical terms. Maybe if people see him we can work out what / where he came from. Got to say, he has many odd little ways, he often winds his tail around my arm and gives me a lick. John (hubby) says its affection, I say he's tasting me!! He had a set to with my alfa queen this morning (Wednesday is 10, half tabby and half rotwiler) My normally placid kitten grew to twice his size and stood his ground. Is this Bengal behaviour?? Mostly he just wants to be friends and play!! Can I also say that even if it turns out he is some other posh puss, (or indeed any kind of puss) I really like the site and think there is a lot of knowledge to be shared.

Thank you, as he was under a tree near a local Chinese take away and was full of worms (poor baby) we thought that really it was fitting!!!

Smetimes when hes having a moment it gets shortened to Oody Dude.

Awww... he is lovely.I love his name as well, really fitting.

I am not too sure he has that much bengal in him, looking at his pictures but it is really difficult in pictures. On one he has a sort of smoky look like a charcoal bengal with the mask around his eyes.

Behavior wise my bengal does not display many bengal traits really. The thing with moggie's is that they are mixed breed so, by definition, will have the possibility of different breed personalities.

It is a really great story and i would love to hear more about Noodles and see more pictures. It is a shame when people come on here and ask if their cat is a bengal and disappear because we say that it probably isn't, no papers etc etc. We are just being truthful as there is no point in stringing them along with false hopes etc... We are here as cat lovers first and foremost so everyone is very welcome! It is a great place to learn about health, nutrition, socialisation and behavior. So please stick around

Thank you, I would very much like to stay with the site and with time and training I might even be able to get more pics of Noodles and the others in the family. I had a good laugh at the link I was sent about is my cat a Bengal and all the stuff thats on there, particualrly when its "how much do you think the kittens would be worth" as I have to be honest and say I had the boy in the be "done" pretty much on his sixth monthly birthday in the hope it would calm him down and make him put some weight on (at the time I was still under the impression he was a hyperactive moggie). Needless to say, neither happened. He is still belting around the house looking for mischief while the others settle down for their morning nap I agree though, I have looked at pics of Bengals and thought no, he's not, then looked at others and thought omg, its him!! Its difficult not knowing where he came from and really sad that he was out at 7 weeks old and no one claimed him (although no one would get him off me now). He has so many behaviour traits that I lean towards thinking there must be some in him, He has such an intelligent expression, when I cook he watches with such concentration I'm sure at some point he will be able to take over We have had to put locks on doors where he is not allowed unsupervised as he just pops them open at will! And he is such a little thief (washing, blue tooth head set, food, jewelry). Anyway, off I go on a ramble again. If he is Bengal will he ever get fatter?? He's so long tall and lithe but I feel to skinny (probably cause is brothers and sisters are all on the porky side. I only feed high quality food and there is dry all over the house for them to munch on throughout the day.
