Hi All
I'm an avid cat lover but I've not had a cat for a good 6 yrs.
I've grown up with cats, mainly moggies but adopted a Turkish Van in my 20's when I lived out in cyprus.
I am not a single mummy with 2 boys and I work from home. I've spent over a year searching for the perfect type of cat to give a forever home to. I didn't want a kitten as I'm already running around after young kids
so I thought I would hold out until I could find a kitty that was a few years old, which led me to cat rescues etc.
Since a friend homed 2 bengals a few years back, I've been interested in them. They're beautiful loving, intelligent and damn right cute
So I looked around and then found a local breeder who was wanting to re-home a 6yr old ex-breeding queen. Just seeing a photo of her, I knew she was the one. I went to visit the breeder this weekend gone and that was it, my heart stopped and I found the new addition to our little family home.
She is a brown rosetta (that spelt right?) and simply stunning. She's been neutered, so I am looking to give her a new lease of life.
I've gone out and bought all the little nick-nacks, food/water bowl, litter tray, a few treats and a treat ball thingy, harness etc. I plan on taking her for walks around the neighbor hood, with the plan that it will get her use to the area, familiar with the streets to an extent. I'm hoping it will bring the risk down of her getting lost, might not be worth it but I feel safer in knowing that's she's been 'out' before she gets to go out, if that makes sense? I also have a large outside aviary enclosure that a neighbor kindly gave me yesterday, that I can hook up to the back end of my house, letting her come in and out as she pleases via the kitchen window.
Jeez, look at me, writing an essay! I suppose you can tell I'm excited
Anyway, looking forward to getting to know you all!
