the people on here can give you the best advice more than i could. i must say than when i decided i wanted a bengal i just googled bengals for sale...and had no clue what i was doing. i called a lady in FL cause she had some for cheap....and she said yeah i have lots of bengals and she said she had nice ones out side....and i said so you keep them outside????? and she said yeah...im like no thanks...and realized quickly she was a BYB (back yard breeder) so then i started doing lots of research...and stubbled across TICA...( the international cat association) which is a good site for legit and professional breeders and found that there were only 2 registered in LA...so i went with the one close to where we live. she was so helpful and allowed me to see the kittens in person & was also registered with TIBCA...shes pricey but it was so worth it plus the peace of mind of knowing my kitten came from a good breeder & not just someone in it for money...someone who actually cares about her kittens more than anything. now i must say she did give me the kitten a little early...im not sure if its cause she really trusted me and liked me or because i would call her and tex her almost everyday wanting pics of my baby and videos..she said she had this one client she would send pics to and they wouldnt even write back to her...as if they didnt even care. but she knew i couldnt wait. plus i told her it was my birthday in hopes she would give him to me early but he was eating/litterbox trained and interacting very well so she felt he would do fine. ( which he has minus being a bad kitty when he wants) but anyway ofcorse take your time because owning a kitty is alot of work and these kittys need alot of attention..

Ooo i remembered something else to add.

I'm not sure whether i would try and see what happens if you 'borrow' Safari. It could end in tears (as my grandmother would say). It might not be the best thing for Safari. To do it properly you would have to confine Safari to a room and do the slow introductions bit. This might upset Safari and not be in his best interests.

It's one of those things, it may have benefits but i'm tempted to say that it wouldn't be great. You would still not know how Shrimp would react to a new kitten of yours. Your new kitten will need to bond with you so you will have to spend some time with it. The new kitten could be very demanding. There is a difference between the demands of a new kitten leaving it's mom and breeder to a kitten Safari's age.

One thing that may help is if you were to have 2. They would, perhaps, amuse themselves and not bother Shrimp too much. They would also be comfort for eachother so makes it easier to intergrate them into your home as they have a security blanket in having a sibling. This worked wonders when Toby and Lily came home together.

safari has only been over there one weekend...i dont like to stress my little man out...he likes to play with shrimp but shrimp isnt to opening to the idea. i may bring him over there in the future...but its just for short visits only. plus safari is getting bigger and stronger & can deff handle his own, he may not be as scared of the big huge white puff ball as he was when he was a smaller kitten.

Welcome to the forum. Lots of good advice on here. I introduced a one year old Bengal to a 13 week old Bengal a few weeks ago and they got on like a house on fire. I think it really depends on the personality of the cat.

Visit breeders and get a feel for what they are like. Where your sister got Safari may be good as she will know the breeder and be able to tell you what she thought. Also, I think I read somewhere that Safaris breeder is TICA which is good as well.

Has Shrimp been introduced to any other cats before?

I never claim to know what the cat is going to do or how he will react! But its not going to kill him unless the kitten has some kind of disease or something! He might adjust to him he might not! Safari has been there and Shrimp only became dominant over his litter box to me that sounds like a good sign! I also think its a pretty low blow to pick apart someones illnesses! Thanks!!!!!! You know its not your job or anyone elses to keep up with me getting a kitten. Yeah I look at them online a lot to see what is out there because I do plan to get another one and I want to find the best breeder I can , even if it takes me 10 years and I look at 1000 cats I dont think that should matter to anyone but for someone to say they dont know what I am doing or where I am going is LOW!!!! That is a huge part of my illness and I really dont need other people pointing it out! Everyone in my life does and now strangers on a forum too! Wow! Life always amazes me!

Nobody is picking apart your illness. I don't even remember you mentioning it. I have just searched the forum for posts made by you containing the word OCD and several posts come up. I checked them all and only in 1 thread did i make a reply in. That was about Dry to Raw. You mention it as if it is just one of those things. People use the term a lot these days when they don't have it so i never put two and two together/ Reading some of your other posts you mention it even you say things like, "maybe i'm a little OCD about it" implying that you just obsess a bit. Like i do about TF and runny poo and kittens being rehomed too soon.

I do not read every post on here. Nor can i remember everything.

I dont expect you to and I know people use the term OCD rather often but I have a serious diagnosis of obsessive compulsive disorder. A real illness not just a saying or maybe a little obessive about somethings , its real!
