For all your "vitamins and stuff" you can use Kitty Bloom. It is a powder and all you need for a kitten up to 6 months is 1/8th of a teaspoon, over 6 months and up to 12lbs. 1/4 of a teaspoon, over 12lbs. 1/2 teaspoon. Just added to your raw with bones once a day.

little update on Boots, got some good news and what might be terrible. went to the vet today with boots, she said hes underweight, just under 7 pounds at almost 6 months, he is gaining weight but not enouph for his body size thats growing, so he looking skinner not he does not have tf, had it tested, said its the last test i should have checked for, its good i did, but it would have been the last case test as far as they were concerned being so rare, just because its the highest price singe test their is, but due to cost of the full test, and im not working atm with school full time, we decided to just treat him for a tape worm, and gave him a b2 booster shot for his intestines, got him on fortiflora, panacur ( fenbendazole) and metronidazole, and i got him some meti cal hypoalergenic food she uses for her cat with some intestine problem and she said it worked for making her cats poop beter, so if this does not cure his diarea and smelly poops, then im going to get blood work and the full spectrum diaria test done, its like 8 different things they test for that could be a cause of diarea, but she said she can hear a little bit of a high pitch in his heart that was not their the last time he was in, she said not to worry to much as he still has his baby teeth so it means hes still going through his kitten thing, which means they very often start symtoms of things that then correct themselves soon after, but she made a note of it to give it a check see if it clears u in the next little while, i sure hope he does not has HCM, freaking hell this is turning out to be a terrible mess i got myself into buying a cat from some terrible breeder....

I meant to add to my list above that the sample must be tested by PCR or QPCR method. This is the only reliable test for TF and most vets are unable to do this inhouse so will usually need to send the sample to an external lab.

the test they did was the pcr test, boots had not taken anything for almost 2 weeks. i just gave him the one purple pill the day i said, and stopped after that and gave the sample on friday, its been getting better on its own, its about the concistancy as cow poop, or mash potatoes, she said its no good, but not serious, it was coming out like water when i got him. but i need him to start packing the weight on, sure hope this does it. and yes she said somthing about his heart could be doing it from him being sick as well, she said its a real faint sound, but its somthing, and she wants to be sure. my vet is an amazing women, she took a look at him for free, spent a good hour and a half showing me all the things it could be, gave me a print out of the names of them and a general rundown of what it could be so i can look it up online, gave me her cats blood test sheet, because she took in a cat that would have been uthinized fr diaria, and showed me what that test would tell me, and hinted to which she would bet they are, she gave him the b2 booster shot for free, gave me his last deworming meds for free. she is great. she said in the 14 years shes has worked down the road she has seen 3 cases of the tc, so she is aware of it and delt with it, but she lost a cat to it as well, she explained it has nuerological side affects, and just recently has their been a cure availible, which she sourced for me while test were being done just incase, so she could have it for me right away if it was the case.

There are no neurological problems from TF at all. The neurological problems are from the drug used to cure it, Ronidazole. But these side effects have drastically reduce since the dosage has been refined.

Did you just sample from 1 poo episode, or take the sample over 24-72hrs as recommended so several poo episodes?

It sounds so like TF which is why i question it. TF is fairly hard to diagnose in that you have so many ways to get a false negative. The laboratory i use in the UK summarised their TF seminar talk by saying' " the only result you can be 100% sure of is a positive one".

Your vet does sound quite good but also has told you some inaccuracies.

I know that bloodwork can tell how seriously the kitten is ill from the diarrhoea. It show various indicators as to what problems are occurring as a result of losing so much liquid poo over so long. I am unsure of what problems show up in bloodwork that can cause the diarrhoea in the first place. I know Pancreatitis would cause diarrhoea but gut infection causes pancreatitis so it's a vicious circle. Diabetes can cause diarrhoea as can a gluten intollerance (coeliacs disease).

it was just the one poop, but if was from a 24 hour lot, my cat refuses to poop outside kitty litter, so he litterally held it in so long he went to eat and pooped himself doing it. which resulted is one huge poop, 3-4 times the size they normally are if thats makes a differance lol, honestly the inacuracys most likely are my doing, im a little forgetfull and i tend to relay information wrong the pcr test is not done there, they send it off to a local medical lab. so i hope its not the case, if this does not work, i will get the full spectrum test for $250, and the pcr test is in that group of test they run, so it will be tested again if thats the case, i relayed this information i got here wrong when i went their and got the single test done for $100 and didnt rememeber when i was their you said full spectrum with that included lol ah my own brain needs some tests lol
