Hi everyone,
We have a lovely silver boy called Barley who we adopted from the RSPCA after he was handed in as a stray. I didn't know much about Bengals but when we went to look at the cats for rehoming, my partner and I both fell in love with the affectionate 'Leopard Cat' and set about learning as much as we could about the breed - this forum in particular was an amazing resource on how best to care for a Bengal.
Poor old Barley had picked up Giarda whilst living on the streets and was half the weight he should have been when we first saw him. At one point the vets thought he would die ( we were given the RSPCA's vet notes when we adopted him and they say 'prognosis poor') but they did a fabulous job of nursing him back to health and a couple of months after we first fell in love with him, we got to take our healthy Barley home!
We were a bit worried that as his second owners (as far as we know anyway) he might not bond all that well with us but he is such an affectionate snuggle cat! Sometimes it's difficult to get him off my lap! (such as now when I'm trying to type about him but he wants to sit on the laptop...)
Here are some pictures (hopefully!)
