Meet Zara!

Hi everyone,
My name is Rochelle and got my first Bengal a little while ago. I fell in love with them at a cat show many years ago and after some research into their characteristics I have wanted one ever since. Zara is really ginger and quite small for a Bengal. She is the smoochiest cat I have ever owned and I thought this breed were not supposed to lap cats!!! She follows us around everywhere and is always on our lap and even curls up on our bed each night. If she isn't snuggling us, she is smooching up to her brother Zeus a tabby rescue cat. Anyone else have a lap happy Bengal?

What a beautiful girl!
Quasar was a lap cat until about 6 or 7 months of age. How old is Zara?

She's adorable!

Diesel will lay by our legs on the recliner but he's not a lap cat. When it's cold he'll curl up next to my legs in bed as well.

She's quite young in one of the photos. Now she is 15months, so I hope she stays smoochy. We were a bit apprehensive of getting two cats if one was a Bengal. I had read they could be domineering and territorial, so we got the rescue cat for 6 months first so he could Could establish himself in the house first before introducing zara. They hissed at each other for 2 days then have been inseparable ever since. They play with each other, clean each other and sleep together ...too cute!

Your kitties are gorgeous! Welcome to the forum. Lots of great information here. Some bengals are lap cats -- but generally, they are not! It totally depends on how socialized the breeder was with them. My Raiden is not a lap cat. He'll sleep in between your legs at night, but he doesn't lay on them. I hope Zara retains that snuggliness that you love so much.

Really? Are they not very common? When I was looking for one that was my main prerequisite.... The more ginger the better for me. She has such a nice nature too. She is quite small for a bengal I think. Only 4kg at age of 15 months. Anyone else have a small bengal?
